Reading Your Tank Gauge Locate the gauge under the dome of the propane tank (see picture below). Once you have located the gauge, you will notice that the gauge has numbers from zero to one hundred that encompass the gauge in a circular pattern. You will also notice that there is a needle inside the gauge, which indicates the percentage of propane your tank currently contains.
By nature propane expands when it is heated and therefore a tank that is filled to 80% is considered full to allow for the expansion of the propane. To ensure an uninterrupted supply of propane, please check your tank's gauge on a regular basis and contact your local Dowdle Gas Store before the gauge reads less than 20%.
